Happy
I woke up this morning feeling happy. I don’t take this for granted, it is sort of an exceptional thing for me. I usually feel fine, good, normal …. But happy is a little rare and something that I’m really grateful for when I can recognize it. Of course, the next thing I want to know is “Why?”. So I do what good Life Coaches must do daily… Self Coaching. I go to my computer and create a thought download. (In the biz we call this a TDL)
A thought download is a free write, something that I often did with my 5th grade students back in the day. It is a way to get thoughts to paper so you can examine them. Find out in black and white what you are thinking. It is our thoughts that cause our feelings… always.
In this case, I’m wondering what thoughts are making me feel so good. Here is what I found:
Today is a day to Begin Again - I did an awesome mediation this morning that focused on this. It reminded me of self love, and patience when I wander off, so I can gently… begin again.
Look Up Child- This morning my daughter sent me a song with this as the title and refrain… Look Up, Child by Lauren Daigle. It makes me happy because I love to know and believe that there is a God up there, who sees me as His child. He’s got this. He’s got me. This gives me strength and makes me feel powerful.
Little Steps + Tiny Choices = BIG CHANGE - I read this in a book this morning and I think it adds to my happy mood because it is absolutely doable. Little steps? I can do little steps. Listening to my inner voice, making little steps and tiny choices toward following my own soul whispers create happiness.
These are the life hacks that I want to remember today, to hold onto this feeling of joy and to spread it around. I’m always grateful for the joy I feel whenever it comes. Did you know you can access joy as you want to? What thoughts are making you feel joy today? I’d love to hear!
